Metal Gear Rising – KONAMI
The Client:
Konami Corporation is a Japanese developer and publisher of numerous toys, trading cards, anime and video games. Konami is famous for popular video game series such as Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Rising, Contra, Pro Evolution Soccer, Silent Hill and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
The Project:
Konami wanted to promote their upcoming game title “Metal Gear Rising” for their European release with a video that portrayed a muralist painting a large scale ad in several cities in the UK. The video had to appeal to their gaming demographic and really try to capture the dark essence of the main character from the game. Get New Design were appointed as the main videographer for the promo video and were asked to document the entire process of painting in 3 different cities in the UK.
The Solution:
Get New Design organised both a normal camera crew and a drone camera crew in order to capture the physical scale of the project. We planned the logistics and itineraries of the tour and shot everything in one week. In post-production the film was graded to give a sense of darkness and grit as well as a futuristic music choice that accompanied the visuals.
