HYPER JAPAN Festival
The Client:
HYPER JAPAN is the largest Japanese Music & Culture festival in Europe. Whether you want to try authentic Japanese food or street food, learn about traditional or modern arts, or share your love of anime and video-games, HYPER JAPAN has something for everyone.
The Project:
We produced their 2015 festival promo video, which was held at the O2 London in July 2015. Hyper Japan wanted us to capture the excitement and buzz that makes their event so unique and special. The key visual elements that needed to be emphasised were the wide range of live music (including X-Japan) and the huge amount of Cosplayers!
The Solution:
We attended the festival for two days, shooting and interviewing a number of shops & stalls, visitors and artists includes the legendary visual-kei band “X-Japan” and “Denpa-Gumi”. The heady mix of crazy cosplay characters and interesting Japanese culture stalls made for a very difficult edit as there was so much more footage that we wanted to include. Overall, Hyper Japan were happy with the end result and have asked us to produce more videos for them in the future.
